I also searched long and hard for a timer that would allow me to shoot CF w/o turning targets.
When I contacted CED(cedhk.com) about their 3000 timer I was told they had a new (8000) model. They advised that the newest 8000 timers (available form them)had a capability of 11 "par" time settings which ought to suffice for CF. It also has the capability of operating lights through a relay.
Anyway, I sent them a check wednesday of last week and will let you know as soon as I get it.
Hold center,
Alex

Try this website
http://www.targettimers.com/ This is Hans Kolpin who makes a timer called the "Range Officer"---with audible commands and start & stop signals, for all Bullseye and International Events---including CF Duello as well.

Hello Stan,
You may want to check out PACT Mark IV. This is a pretty versatile timer with the acoustic sensor to measure shooting times. It also has it also has 2 optional plugs to hook up paddles (I'm not into rapid fire so I'm not sure how they work).
It also has a chronographer upgrade for another $70.00. I purchased it with this option.

I have looked at what other have suggested and it doesn't look to me as if any of them do what you want.
The Target Timers one seems to be the closest but, as you say, it doesnt have "late shot" sensors. Is that facility really needed, you already have 2 of your own, one on each side of your head ;-)

Stan;
My MKIV owners manual pg-4 decribes a "PAR" time feature.
The PAR button allows the shooter to enter a time limit for a given string....Each time the shooter fires the timer will display the shot number, split time and total time on the top line of the display....the timer will beep telling you that the time limit has been reached. If the shooter fires after the signal the timer will display the number of late shots (fired after the stop signal) allowing easy calculation of penalties....
It's hard to find this information in the product description. This was in the users manual. You can also call them for further clarification 1-800-PACT-INC or 972-641-0049 (these where phone numbers on the back of the unit I'm not sure if they are still active)
