Sight and Grip Problems on Morini CM 162 pistols
It looks there are some informations missing:
We have two different front sight, one low and one high. With both you can cover all possible ranges in elevation
The lack of not adjusting the grip angle on the electronic version, we compensate with custom grips at competitions or with copy of existing grips with other angles.
We have two different trigger shoes, one normal and one for long fingers.

Re: Sight and Grip Problems on Morini CM 162 pistols
But I believe that the low front sight is not available in 4mm wide. I like a lot of white on each side of the foresight. Because only one side of the rear sight moves when you increase the width, if I make it wide enough to suit a 5mm foresight I do not have enough windage adjustment.Francesco wrote:We have two different front sight, one low and one high. It is much easier to use the standard (high) foresight and put a 2-3mm thick spacer between part 162069T and 162055T.
Even with this problem, it is still the best gun on the market.
Grips for The 162EI
It is all well and good to supply grips at the larger competitions but for the average club shooter who doesnt get to the international events it would be nice if this feature would be available from the dealers ie different rake grips and that the foresight in different heights are available to order....The biggest problem is tho if you use a high raked grip on the 162EI the trigger is then too high and it would also need a longer trigger bar ..Is this available ??
I have to confess the excellent trigger on the 162EI made me consign the LP10 to the spares shelf in the safe. I initially voiced my perfect gun would be a 162EI with an LP10 adjustable grip and reliable version of the LP10 recoil buffer. However, I now question if the grip adjustment is a realistic request.
I removed the custom grip from my LP10 for the factory grip to lend to a friend. Out of interest, I tried the factory grip in the right hand/left eye setup. I realised that simply moving the factory grip on its axis did not address the essential hand alignment requirement albeit at an extreme of the possible adjustment. The factory grips are set up for this optimal alignment for various hand sizes. As adjustment is adjusted away from this optimal default, the alignment is compromised. Interestingly, the factory grip was a good anatomical fit for both my Morini and Steyr but the pistol “point” required specialist customisation to maintain alignment.
Similarly, off-shelf grips for major changes in alignment is not realistic. For a typical albeit not that common is opposite eye/hand grips. I noted a European maker of laminated custom grips had very poor hand alignment and the off-set for are similar to some of my home made attempts in the 90’s. Although they looked nicely finished, the hand offset position is dreadful!
I agree with Clive, access to a skilled grip maker/modifier is difficult although I am not sure this can be fully addressed by wither offering adjustment or alternative factory grips.
I suggest the Morini web site lists with part numbers the alternative foresight blades for the free and air pistols as well as the air pistol trigger blade option. I also suggest the excellent 15g barrel weights are also noted on the web site as these were very hard to order.

Grip and Sight Problem
This is somewhat a problem with most competition guns that you purchase now a days.
If you can't get to a major competiton where Morini has a booth. You might want to contact Seaton Thomas and find out if he can modify your grips for you. He does some amazing work. A number of the shooters that contribute to TargetTalk including myself have had him work their grips. I have had him work on both my Morini 162 as well as my Free Pistol. As a result, I can meerly get into position and raise the gun up to my eye and the front sight and rear sight are aliegned.
By the way, Seaton did some work for Bill Demarest. When the grip broke on Bill's Free Pistol and it needed to be replaced prior to Bill going to a World Cup match. And as you might know, Bill is the current World Record holder in Free Pistol.
I don't know where you live but you can give him a call and see what he can do for you. His number is (928) 763-5504 or email him at seaton2@frontiernet.net.
If there are any querstions, please don hesitate to contact me.
Keep'em all in the 10 ring,
Ian

Front Sight
We have 4, 4.5, 5.0, 5.5 and 6.0 in low and hight version.
I talked to Scott several times that if there is a real interest on grips we could come to Camp Perry for the US Championships. The only problem we have is that our grip maker needs to have work. He is worried not to have enought work.
Keep contact with Scott because we have not problem to come.

Nope, Ian, - Bill Demarest is a reasonable good marksman, but a World record holder he is not, and he has never been.Ian wrote:This is somewhat a problem with most competition guns that you purchase now a days.

The World Record holder it the famous Alexander Melentiev. The record by the way is 581 points, dating back from 1980. I know, Ian, because I was there when the record score was shot.
May I ask why you bring desinformation, Ian?
To anyone interested, all World Records in shooting are listed under the adress: www.ISSF-shooting.org. Then look under Records.

What an extremely strange, and wrong, post.Guest too wrote:Nope, Ian, - Bill Demarest is a reasonable good marksman, but a World record holder he is not, and he has never been.

I suggest that you should follow the link you gave to the records pages, then look under "FWR".
