One of the best shooters in the world (in fact the 7th best according to the results of the latest world cup, shoots at LA R&R http://www.lafn.org/~larr/index.html and to be honest I can't remember where it is but its 30 or 45 minutes from Burbank

They have the most active smallbore rifle program for olympic style shooting in the SW. There is some shooting at the 1984 olympic range in Chino and there are others who are far better suited to answer questions than I.

Check out the USAShooting.org website

some clubs impose a lower limit, probably for insurance reasons, I think NRA beginners programs are 10yrs and older.

There is a differentiation at about 21 yrs between juniors and adults and some teams, matches and awards are juniors only. And some events have a senior category about 55 or 65 or so.

But beyond that there is no age limit, the oldest guy to ever compete in the olympics was a shooter.
