I came across this 3D grip: https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/various ... 500-grip-s. Since I have a 3D printer, Iā€™m also tempted to get the STL file and print it. Any one who want to support the cost? I will print the grip in pla or pteg for free

Thanks

I started shooting with the AP20 Pro and liked it more than the AP40 with the 5D grip . Full cylinder and wood grip. If you plan on lending it for lessons buy the regular model with the ambidextrous grip.

The 'ambidextrous grip' is the universal right-left grip?

I am going to get the AP20 Pro for coaching/courses and there are left-handed students..

I think the AP20 Pro is one of the bargains in a not very crowded market.
In the U.S. the Hammerli AP20 PRO price is $1,095. https://www.champchoice.com/search?q=ap20%20pro
The Hammerli AP20 is $890. https://www.champchoice.com/mc-airgun/a ... us-2798000
For the $205 increased cost you get a orthopedic wood grip and a pistol that has a manometer on the cylinder. Both are very good upgrades above the baseline AP20.
It is too bad that the AP20 PRO can not be factory optioned with different size grips. They can be bought later but that drives up the cost another $250.

If weight is the principal concern for a youth or small framed athlete, that is drawing someone to the lightweight Hammerli AP20 then the other pistol worthy of consideration is the Pardini Kid. It is $1,299

Now having said all that; I have 5 athletes using the Steyr EVO Compact. That is what I recommend when they want to graduate from a team pistol and get their own that they don't have to share.

The college team I help coach has twenty six AP20's with the universal grip that we use for all the beginners. You can convert the cocking lever to left-handed, but it's a bit of a pain in the neck. We have one pistol we fully converted, but when we have additional lefties, we switch just the grip, and they just have to reach over the top to cock them. By mid-year, there is often enough attrition that having one true lefty is usually all we need.

The universal grips work well for a remarkably wide range of shooters, but I've designed & 3D printed "booster" heel rests for students with small hands. I have +5 mm, +10 mm, and +15 mm rests. They are specifically right or left handed. I keep meaning to get the files up on Thingiverse, but haven't had time. If you need them, PM me with your email address, and I can send you a zip file. If I get buried with requests, I will try to get them up over the Holiday weekend.

Yes. Very easy to change the side of the palm rest. It goes with the basic model, not the pro

If you are in the US, and want the best price on AP20's, talk to Neal Stepp at ISS (you have to call on the phone). That were we bought the 26 pistols my college team uses. Walther refused to allow us any sort of quantity or educational discount, and Neal still had the best prices.
