I have an issue with one of our club's Hammerli AP 20, when I open the cocking lever and cock the pistol, the lever just falls down under its own weight. The gun is still cocked and goes off, but it makes it a bit too difficult to load a pellet while still maintaining the grip. The other AP20 we have doesn't have this problem, once the cocking lever is up, it stays up until a shooter closes it.
Wondering if anyone knows how to fix it.

NM, sorry for the false alarm, everything is working as it should now. I realized the cocking lever screw was loose, I tightened it and everything works as it should now.
As a positive side effect, now I know how to fully disassemble AP20 and put it back together. Not sure how I'm going to live with this knowledge from now on though... :)

We use blue loctite- a small amount placed just on one side of the threads- on the AP-20's with this problem. It does not happen again. (No red loctite.)

I've been fighting a similar battle. If the pistol is set up for righthanded use, the cocking forces tend to tighten the cocking lever screw. We have a pistol that was converted to lefty, and in that configuration, cocking wants to unscrew the pivot screw. I cleaned it up and tried purple Loctite, and that didn't do it. Last Thursday, I took the lever section apart, cleaned everything thoroughly, lubricated all the moving bits and used blue Loctite. It worked fine on Friday, so that may do it. My concern is that the student shot it quite a bit with the lever loose, and may have wallowed out the threads in the brass socket. In the future, if we convert a pistol to lefty, I will start its life with blue Loctite.
