Shipping Air Guns

Post by kbean »

Any tips or recommended shipping companies?
I was recently made aware of an individual trying to ship an air rifle with UPS where they wanted to charge $300 to ship, and I’m trying to avoid these costs should I decide to send one for maintenance.
I know retailers regularly ship for a few dollars.

Thanks!

In the US?

Your local post office is often the best deal. If the person you are dealing with does not know the rules, someone else will.
Be patient.

If you don't already have a case for it, order one from Amazon for $30.... This way you get a case, and most importantly a generic box for the case (common carriers aren't big fans of having the contents plainly visible).

Pushing past that, all of common carriers allow you get quotes online, and if you setup an account, they will knock a few points off.. You can also setup an account with Pirateship, and get quoted for a couple carriers.
