I used to shoot back in the 80's and would like to start again. I am now retired and in my 70's so I don't expect a lot. I can't find many AP or FP matches in Northern California. Is your match a 'postal' match? If so, how does one enter? Thank you.

This thread isn't formal. You can shoot at home and report your scores here. I've even posted a match once where I didn't use pellets but instead used my SCATT.

The purpose of this thread is more for us all to track our own progress and brag when we get PRs.

Greetings to ModestoPete! I was born in CA but have been living in Socialist/Communist Germany for the past 37 years. Good to have you on Board.

Chalk this month up to a learning experience. I flung 6 shots out into the white in the 1 and 2-oclock direction. I think I wasn`t using what some on the forum call a neutral grip or neutral wrist. That is, pressure applied by the fingertips combined with a death grip causes shots to go high and to the right. Need to change up my grip and get in some practice.

I think this is the lowest number of 8's in my whole life.

547 tonight. Would have done better but had to make a trigger adjustment so my scores at the end dropped. But this is the first time I have got all 8's or above using pellets (I had done it last week with a SCATT and no pellets)

Edit: Improved on my score with a 549.

Improved upon my earlier score. Fewest shots below a 9 I've ever gotten, but unfortunately I couldn't hit the 10 ring to save my life, so my score was only so-so.

Last weekend for glory. SHOOT IT!

After not shooting for many years, (1980's?), I have been doing some dry fire practice. Obviously not enough :-(. I shot my first match today at the Coyote Gun Range (San Mateo, CA). I think there were two or three scores in the in the 560-570 range and a few much lower, like me. I couldn't even break 500. I won't say what I shot but I did learn from the experience and what I need to do before the next match.

BTW, I am shooting my old FWB Model 2 (CO2) with a Nygord muzzle break and his "World Champion Pellets". They worked flawlessly. Just wish I could say the same for my 71 year old body. Time to work out.

Anyway, there is always next month.

First month in more than a year where I couldn't manage at least a 570 over 30 days of shooting. I think I'm on the rebound a bit but still having trouble. I'm also trying to get a new eyeglass prescription so that can't be helping...
