Tokyo Audience at shooting events

Post by Xman »

The Tokyo Committee will ban audiences from ALL events, even at venues outside Tokyo. That being said, will the organizers still play music at shooting finals and might they also play audience sounds ... cheers, clapping, cow bells too at the appropriate moments?

Cowbells and horns are a European tradition for all kinds of sports events. Heard some at the world cup events, but mostly cheering and clapping during finals.

ISSF has encouraged fan "participation" during shooting finals for a few years now, along with the music to make it more appealing for broadcast as I recall.

NO AUDIENCE? Nothing new about that!

At least now we have an excuse for no one showing up. AP trials final at Benning last year had perhaps a dozen&a-half people in the bleachers & maybe five people total watched the qualifier. Women's sport pistol had 6-8 spectators tops.

I think the cows might disagree. Audience? The only audience at a shooting event should be multiple relays waiting to shoot.

They recently have just fired their own composer, for allegedly bullying disabled persons in the past. I guess there will be no music either. They did say that all his music for the Olympics and the Para will not be played. No idea what they will do, it does not matter anyway since nobody will be there in the stadium to listen.
