Back support belt OK?

Post by seamaster »

Backache creeping up. I had to wear back support weight lifting belt.

Shot pretty OK with belt on.

Just wonder if is legal in ISSF rules?

Not allowed, rule 6.7.4.2

The use of any special devices, means or clothing, including the use of Kinesio,
medical or similar taping, which immobilizes or unduly reduces the movement of
the athlete's legs, body or arms, is prohibited for Rifle, Pistol and Running Target
athletes in order to ensure that athletes’ performance skills are not artificially
improved.

Hmm...that's one I'd argue. Especially considering the degree of support provided by rifle jackets, trousers, and boots.

Rifle clothing is a specific exemption with clear specifications set out in the rules.
