Hey guys I’m new to this forum so this may have already been discussed.... if so I apologize up front.

Is there anything that can be done to a 499 to soup it up so to speak.

My daughter is wanting to some extra special to her gun.

Anything to get extra FPS or any suggestions.

Thanks !

You might want to read this: https://www.pyramydair.com/blog/2013/03 ... 10-meters/

"Souping up" leads to less accuracy. Cosmetic chnges can be made if she so desires (eg carving in the stock).

I suspect any changes to the functioning would make the gun ineligible for any competition she would enter.

What I do with any new gun we get.
1 pull the plunger assembly.
2 Clean out all factory oil and grease.
3 lightly sand the plunger head to remove any flashing or burrs.
4 re-oil the foam ring. I use 5w-30 full synthetic.
5 re-assemble and put about 30 shots down range from a bench rest.
6 completely clean the shot tube, it needs to be clean with no oil in it.
7 Teflon tape the threads on the shot tube and re-attach.

The 499B takes a lot attention. The easiest things are:
1)use premium Match Grade BBs,
2)be sure your shot tube snugs up firm and tape it in place.
NEVER use anything more than your finger/thumb grip to tighten the shot tube.

Check out the Daisy gate on Gatewaytoairguns.org.

Cobalt 327 can mod a 499 to get 500 fps with no loss in accuracy.
