Deep. But if you tend to aim low, especially against these idiotic targets with lights whithin them, it is of no use.
Maybe it is better to get used to shallow.

If there was a "best" then the manufacturers wouldn't fit adjustable depth sights. It's personal preference.

I can see the front sight better with the deep rear sight of the Feinwerkbau P8X compared to the Steyr Evo 10. Other shooters at my range tried the Fein and share my impression.

Depending on foresight width, light level, sight radius.
I adjust the depth of the rear sight so if forms a image as a square.

Finally a topic not beaten to death here on TT! It gave me something to think about, and I'll be playing with this for a while to see what I can come up with.

OK, call me a dummy, but my Morini 162ei rear sight WIDTH is adjustable, but not its depth, to the best of my knowledge. Am I missing something?

Then change the width of the foresight.
If I remember there are four widths .

Perhaps I didn't make myself clear. I understand that many current APs have rear sight notches with adjustable WIDTHS. I also understand that front sights with various WIDTHS are available for purchase.

My question is about the DEPTH of the rear sight notch. Until this post I had not heard of rear sights with adjustable depths. In addition to the PX8, are there any other APs with adjustable rear sight depths? Based on previous posts, I can see some benefit in such a feature although, with MY wobble zone and trigger control issues, this is probably low on the list of priorities for me. I'm just trying to get smarter on the nuances of precision shooting.

TIA for educating me.

Benelli Kites have adjustable notch depth. I suspect the MatchGuns air pistol does, because their .22's have that feature.

The old FWB 65 had an adjustable width rear notch. Because of its design you could shim the bottom of the notch to deepen it.
