Greetings,
I have a like new BoMar rib that I believe fits the S&W Model 52.
Does anyone have a Model 52 with a rib that I can compare notes with?
My rib is the extended front sight version.
Cheers,
Dave

Hi Dave,
My second M52 was a bit unhappy as a PPC gun but I did put a standard BowMar rib on it, calmed it down a bit but then I sold it - that was sometime in the early 1990s. Never saw a 52 with an extended rib, they would not be legal for ISSF and since most would have been in dual service up here, I doubt that any of that form came around, saw several on 45 match guns, but every user seemed to be very nervous about bending the extension, any they tend to vibrate a lot during sustained fire.
My third M52 (it's a dash 1, yes, love-hate relationship!) wears one of the forward clamp on weights from DPC, and is much better behaved when it does get to go out.
Cheers! Jim

Greetings Jim,
The BoMar M52 ribs were advertised in old Gil Hebard catalogs. Regular and Extended version for the Model 52.
The one I have has pockets milled underneath to lighten the assembly which made sense, in a way, as the 38 WadCutter is fairly mild.
The ejection port cutout is longer in length that the port on the slide.
Laying the rib against a M52 it "looks" proper regarding length.
The search continues...
Cheers,
Dave

Dave, all of the dozen or so that I mounted on guns over thirty years had the underside milled out, only the bridges where the mounting screws holes were placed were solid. Hope that helps.
