FWB 603 recoil reducer servicing intervals?

I recently purchased a FWB 603 and found the recoil reducer to be inoperable. I managed to get it apart and found the "tappet rod" to be rusted and stuck in the housing and after enough "Kroil" and soaking, it came out. I polished the "Tappet rod" and put it on the buffer, then put everything back together and readjusted it.....seems to be working OK.

I was wondering how often you Guys service yours and what do you use for a lube?
