Here is the USAShooting issue that has an excellent first of a series article on pellet testing.

No sniveling if your groups aren't as small.

It's in the July issue of USAShooting news. Or you can ask this guy; he wrote it.

This guy was at the Junior Olympics at the OTC in Colorado Springs. He was testing pellets and making recommendations for size pellets in peoples' guns. He used a wood jawed, woodworking type vise to hold the air pistols by the air cylinder. Had an electronic target that just showed groups, no scoring or aimpoint. I think the worst group was around 8 mm c-t-c with very undersized pellets (or oversized bore) It would still hold the ten ring. He improved it with larger pellets (his brand, of course) to less than 1 mm.
Most peoples' guns were shooting 3 to 5 mm ctc groups.
Five shot groups at ten meters. Neat to watch. He was set up in the small test range by the front door, not the main ranges.

I wasn't aware there was an Electronic target in there, must be new.

Yep, they have a Meyton in there. It actually has a pellet testing mode on it, which is super handy. Not sure how long its been there, but it was there in January 2014 at the very least.
