LP 400 cylinder's valve leaking.
The cylinder slowly loses air. Rate is around 20 bad in 12 hours. Got it checked from local technician and he says its a valve problem. Others say that since gun is around 16 months old, it needs its grease to be replaced...
Any advice..my country does not have walther office. So, dont know what to do..

There are a number of things you can do. First you need to know more about the leak.amarinder wrote:The cylinder slowly loses air. Rate is around 20 bad in 12 hours. 1/ Is it leaking with the tank "on" or "off" the pistol ?
Valve is closed off and open on the pistol.
2/ If it is leaking "on" the pistol the leak is internal to the pistol.
A gunsmith needs to pull apart and repair. The LP400 does have a number of revisions
on the gasket/poppet valve assy. The early ones an o ring moves and leaks, can be fixed
fitting the new assy or very careful use of super glue to retain the o ring.
3/ If it is leaking "off" the pistol then is could be the valve or end cap seal.
Do a soapy water test. Mix a small amount of dish washing detergent and water, use
it on and around the seal and end cap. An air leak will blow bubbles. If leak found
replace seal. Special tools will be needed.

Re: LP 400 cylinder's valve leaking.
My one leaks now. From full to halfway in the green in one week, on the gun.
Will check it off the gun now.

Although it doesn't solve your leak, it's a good habit to store the pistol with the cylinder unscrewed (enough to take the pressure off the regulator). The seals and spring will last longer.jbshooter wrote:My one leaks now. From full to halfway in the green in one week, on the gun.

Sounds like a good idea. In the meantime I'll have to go back to using the good old Morini.

He wouldn't have this problem with a SSP.
Re: LP 400 cylinder's valve leaking.

You can leave the cylinder screwed on using a spacer disc to relieve pressure or an o-ring can also be used.j-team wrote:Although it doesn't solve your leak, it's a good habit to store the pistol with the cylinder unscrewed (enough to take the pressure off the regulator). Re: LP 400 cylinder's valve leaking.
I have the same problem, a friend of mine went to Granada by the end of 2014 and took my cilinder to the Walther personel and they did fix it, but last week the air leak started again.amarinder wrote:The cylinder slowly loses air. Here in my country, Brazil, we do not have a Walther office too. So I also don't know what to do.
