You had a laugh

Post by Rover »

I told you about my "bore polishing" pellets, but didn't have any backup.

I did a "no no" and changed two parameters at once. I lowered the velocity on my Steyr LP1 and shot groups using RWS Basics, R10s, and the Daisy's.

The first time I lowered the velocity, the groups got larger. Now, this is not a large increase in group size; it was barely noticeable. I reduced the velocity even more and I got a wierd result: the RWS Basic 30 shot group was smaller than the R10s (I've always liked these). The Daisys did OK with a group that would fit in the 10 ring, but wasn't as small as the other two. Overall, the groups didn't get any smaller.

I reset the gun back to the original setting and said, "Screw it, I'm not messing with this crap anymore."

I did note that the gun was much quieter during testing when you didn't hear the "Thwack" of the pellet hitting the backstop; a good case for the famed Rover "box of rags pellet catcher".

Remember my motto: Test 'em yourself, you worthless putz!!
