Airgun Diopter Sight Low

Post by ihasagun »

I finally started sighting in my avanti tonight and ran into a problem. I started at about 4 meters to be sure I hit the target and it was shooting several inches low. I was using this sight picture.

I finally got it up around the 10 ring, but I had to adjust it almost entirely all the way up. I'm concerned that it will shoot low at 10 meters even adjusted to its limit.

Should I adjust my sight picture? Is there something else I can try?

If you have the sights adjusted to shoot on center at 4 meters, the gun will shoot quite high from 10 meters. That's because the sights are mounted significantly above the barrel.

Yep. You're right. I stepped back and it started shooting high. Now that I think about it, that makes sense. Thanks for the reply.
