Are air guns still considered to not be firearms and, therefore, not require approval from the BATF?

Mine went through without a hitch so I think they're OK.

ATF doesn't want to know it exists although you may have local and/or state restrictions. What kind of AP is it? There is a possibility of TSA taking too much notice of air or CO2 cylinders that they can't open up and stare into. We know otherwise, but to a poorly trained non-expert a PCP cylinder can look awfully like a pipe bomb.

I was pleasantly surprised last weekend when I flew to a match with three guns. The TSA has recently revised the rules, and a lot of those crazy picky restrictions are gone, including the 11 pound ammo limit. I believe that the air cylinder restrictions are gone also for checked luggage. An air gun is still not a firearm in the US.
