Dears,
I have been bought recently LP10 Pistol (Black Pistol with Silver Cylinder)
The question is:
How can know the Manufacture date of the pistol, I found only the Manufacture date of the cylinder (11/2012) but I cannot find the Manufacture date of the Pistol.

I'm sure you can link the serial number to a date of manufacture, but you may need to ask Steyr.

Nobody really cares about the manufacturing date. There is some info around, e.g. when Steyr switched to the ball bearing trigger, or you might be able to get some info from other shooters about when they bought their own LP10. Don't know if Steyr will comment on a question like that, in my experience most companies are pretty mum about things like serial numbers and dates.

I am also a bit curious.

My steyr lp10 is an old one I guess.
Serial number is: 719613

My first old LP10 from end 1999 was serial number 721257. So yours must be an even older one. Probably one of the first LP10 ?

Note that the first LP10 air like mine had "STEYR AIR" written on the regulator (just behind the cylinder, the part that doesn't exist on the CO2 version).

This wasn't written on later versions because the CO2 version of the LP10 was discontinued by Steyr and all LP10 were air.

They had also the thin black trigger blade and of course no ball bearing mounted trigger (ball bearing appeared end 2007 if I remember well). But you must be careful with the ball bearing trigger since any LP10 can be upgraded to the ball bearing trigger.

And mine is also 721... and was bought in the early 2000's as I recall, so I would agree, it sounds like it's 14+ years old.

Yes mine also has the steyr air on the side of the cilinder adaptor.

Yes, Steyr pistols may look new even after many years and lots of pellets shot, mine had 100000+ pellets and was looking like new, no trace of wear or anything. The finish is very strong, the only external moving part = the cocking lever doesn't generate wear (like on the FWB P44 for instance where it scratches the blue paint of the frame) so, if no misuse happened (shock...) it remain like new and you can't hardly know how many shots the pistol did.

If I remember well, the LP10 was introduced in 1999, mine was bought in December 1999, so I guess your pistol is from the first production early 1999 ?

you simply can send a mail to Steyr, they will give you a answer on the Year of production.

I called them once to confirm the age of a used one I wanted to buy and they gave me the information without any trouble.
