Savage-Anschutz model 64 match rifle

I have been using the above named rifle for 4 years now, and it's got a problem that continues to get worse. The rifle itself is from the 1980's so I would expect a bit eccentricity but it's getting rather annoying. What happens is that if the shooter opens the bolt in even a slightly vigorus manner, the cocking piece at the rear of the bolt snaps forward. Then ,most times, the shooter has to remove the bolt from the rifle re-cock it, re-install the bolt and fire the next round. This is awkward from position and messes up my concentration on position and firing. Does anyone out there no if the bolt can be rebuilt or reshaped to mitigate this occurence? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Sounds like it may be a trigger adjustment issue...

If this is happening when the bolt is being opened, would it not be a problem with the bolt itself? To me it appears that the cocking cam is worn, so the cocking piece is not being held back.
Now if it snapped forward as the bolt was closed, then I would say the trigger sear wasn't holding up.

It definitely happens when the bolt is being opened,,,when the bolt stops against the bolt stop.

It's less dangerous for the bolt ton decock as you open it, unless you need to extract a live round.
It's time for a trip to a gunsmith.
