Hi Guys
I've tried to register on a well know Ausie centre fire forum and find I can't post even after the probation period and the administrators don't answer my e mails.
I'm looking for info, idealy pictures or drawings for the adapter I need to re barrel my Sportco/Omark M44 in .308W.
Any contact from Os would be much appreciated either on the subject or some one who could wake up the forum so I can ask there.
Contact me either on PM or email

I don't know the site you're referring to, but another one you could try is
http://www.usrifleteams.com/lrforum/. It's run out of the US but there are a few Aussies on it who I'm sure will be able to help you.
Cheers

I am not current with Omarks these days but have you tried emailing Barrel manufacturers in Aussie, Madco comes to mind and also the name Bugden. In NZ I would try Trueflight or the likes of Mike and Dianne Collings for info'

Contact TSE (Total Engineeering Solutions) in Brisbane, formerly known as MAB, they still make the Omark rifles (now called the M44).
http://www.tsengineering.com.au/
The part you need to put an 'normal' barrel on is called a "Neilson adaptor". Or, you could just buy a new M44 barrel from TSE.

Thanks guys
I'll contact TSE, the site is Shooting.com.au , there is a bit of discussion on Sportco/Omark M44's re barreling on it.
We want to put a Border 7.62 barrel on it to match our UK issued ammo which is Ruag 155 gn, I now we'll need an adaptor and I know a lot of people have made them from the old original barrel which is what we are hoping to do to avoid the export/import hassle but my engineer would like to see how others have done it rather than go in blind so would like some pictures or drawings to get a head start.
The Rifle is my wifes, its a gem, in a famous ex Malcolm Cooper Walther GX1 300 mt stock that he used to win championships and set world records, still complete with equipment control stickers, but the barrel is both totaly shot out and also not suitable for the Ruag.
Good Shooting

If you can give details of the website, eg via PM, then I can have a look.

It's hard to desribe without a drawing but the basic idea is that you have to cut the old barrel off about 1" in from ogf the recoil lug, then bore it out and thread (internal) it to accept the new barrel which then screws in and headspaces like a normal action.
