Scatt Trainer for long distance..

Post by Bowman26 »

I was just checking out the Scatt system and I noticed they list it as a training aid to shoot out to as far as 1000y. Can someone explain to me how shooting a few meters insider can simulate the conditions of long range shooting to give you any meaningful feedback? I can see the upside for indoor 10m shooters and maybe even 50m smallbore but can't see how any external forces can be simulated IE Wind, wind pushing on the shooter, mirage, thermals etc.

The SCATT system is not designed to simulate any of the shooting factors you mention at any distance. The different distances, say 10 meters to 1000 yards, simply extrapolate what your hold would be for on those targets. As you, I have have found no significant thermals in my basement and I have shot in all conditions down there.
