Why would you think this is news?
Besides, this article is about the negotiating forum on the treaty, not the treaty itself, and the fact that the US is insisting that the treaty be developed by consensus. According to the article, critics say the US position gives any of the participants a virtual veto and ensures that no action will be taken or that any treaty proposal that is made will be fairly porous. In other words, the Obama policy will have the same result as the Bush policy but with being so obviously obstreperous.
And it still would have no effect on domestic laws regarding gun sales or possession. In fact, nothing from the UN will have any effect on the internal affairs of this country. And if you really think that the right to own or transfer guns can vanish literally overnight, then you have a truly prodigious imagination.
But go ahead and buy all of the guns and ammo you can afford, and lock it all up in a safe and bury the safe in your back yard so that even after the black helicopters come swooping down and Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid jump out demanding your guns, you will still be able to defend yourself when the zombie apocalypse erupts. And then you can give me a big "I told you so!" if that makes you feel better.
