There are several lower cost .22 target rifles about these days which offer all the features I need for my limited target shooting, except that the muzzle-end of the barrel is not cut to accept a front sight of any type. I've seen guns by Kimber, Anschutz, and CZ which would be acceptable except for this one drawback.
Does someone make an accessory band camp, screw-on mount, or must a machinist cut the dovetail grooves. If they must be cut, what width are standard modern Anschutz sights expecting?
Any suggestions highly appreciated.

Got one for my Savage Mark II and it works great. The only other thing I had to do was get it drilled and tapped for a rear sight. I went with a Lyman 90MJT and it served me well until I advanced to an Anschutz.

How about just mounting a bloop tube with a front dovetail already on the bloop tube ?rfwhatley wrote:There are several lower cost .22 target rifles about these days which offer all the features I need for my limited target shooting, except that the muzzle-end of the barrel is not cut to accept a front sight of any type. Most Excellent !!
Those are 2 great ideas. Both very affordable and vastly better than having the barrel drilled and tapped, mainly because I can take it with me if I sell the gun.
Sincere thanks guys !!

This is what my CZ 452 Lux looks like with my Centra 10-50 aperture sight setup.
