who to repair my HW70?

Got an HW70 I just started shooting again after a long time and it needs some attention.
The trigger is wonky - either dangerously light or a green-stick break at about ten pounds with little adjustment between the two. Also, point of impact is so high that I have the rear sight screwed all the way down and still have to hold below the bull to hit in the black.
Thing is, about a million years ago I sent it off to the outfit I bought it from and they treated me so badly I don't want to deal with them again.
I'm looking first for recommendations in the Detroit area. I'd rather not ship the pistol if I don't have to but if no one knows of a good outfit around town I guess I'll will ship the gun.
Thanks

Why you bought it? What the main reason behind you initial investment: recreational activities, competitive performance or cross training?

Recreation and a little not-too-serious competition if I can find some in the area. Why?

Olympic style competitions you can find in Bay City. I just have some doubts that competing with this thing will be fun.

I've got an IZH-46 if I want to get a bit more serious but the HW70 is a nice, easy-to-shoot gun that I can fire either off-hand or two-handed.
Anyhow, do you know someone kind of local who can work on the gun?

Beeman imports and sells 'em; they ought to be able to fix them.
Had one once, but the best I could do with it was the low 90's. Not an easy pistol to shoot well.

Good luck with Beeman. It's now a Chinese company who doesn't seem follow the old Beeman business model nor honor previous service policies. I've not had any luck recently finding even a simple breech seal for an HW70. IIRC, Weihrauch's contract with Beeman ends soon [or has ended] so their airguns can now be sold by other vendors. Hopefully, HW will set up a US service center to support all their past products.

Russ, just got off the phone with D&D and they don't do air guns. Period.
They gave me the name of a guy in Bay City but he can't work on anything Beeman sells because they won't sell parts to smiths; they insist on working on the guns they sell and they also insist on not letting anyone else work on them.
My experience with Beeman's is similar to Guest's. It wasn't good which is why I'm looking to have someone else work on the gun. Maybe I'll contact Wiehrauch to see if there are other vendors/smiths who handle their products now.

Beeman's probably won't screw it up; it's not rocket science.
Stick in a $5 USPS box and hope for the best.

I did some more poking around and, as is usual on Google, it coughed up another name: Airgunwerks - Dave Slade.
They're not local to Detroit area but I couldn't find anyone beefing them and a bunch of folks who think the outfit is pretty good. So, that's probably where I'll send my HW-70.

Just thought I'd post an update on my travails with my HW-70.
First, my gun is old. Like more then thirty years and in the late 80's Weihrauch made a change to the trigger group which couldn't be retrofit to the older model and pretty much stopped supplying parts for the old trigger. There was a jig that allowed newer model trigger parts to be installed on the older model guns but that jig is of semi-mythical status.
Got a recommendation to check out Air Venturi outside Cleveland and talked to them a while. "Gene" was very pleasant and said that he'd look the gun over and see what could be done. So that's where I've sent the gun.
If I think of it I'll update the status of the transaction and report how things went with Air Venturi.
And the end of the story...

Took about seven weeks to get the gun back but it shoots very nicely now - no cocking problem, I don't have the rear sight wound all the way down and have to hold low as well just to stay on the paper, the non-chronographed velocity seems a bit closer to where it ought to be and the trigger, while no one's idea of terrific is once again predictable. I don't really think I could ask for much more from an inexpensive gun that old and I know I couldn't ask for more from the outfit doing the repair.
Airventuri received the gun on August 20 - thank you for an e-mail informing me of the fact - and I got an e-mail informing me the gun was repaired and ready for return on October 11.
Price was reasonable and I have no reservations about doing business with AirVenturi.
