Hi everyone, I'm on my way to create my training program for this next season, and well, I find a little bit difficult to plan exercises in an effective way for me to improve, I'm an air rifle shooter and own trainer, as some of you, so I would love you to advise me with some guidelines, useful exercises or objectives that had improve performance in your own experience.
Always thankful,
Carla

Training depends on where you are ow (you don't tell us), and where you are trying to get o (on what date).
Here is one link to check out:

After reading that, and thinking about it, give us some more info to see if we can help.

Right now I'm very motivated, I've just won a medal wich I feel very proud because i worked very hard for it. In my way to those medals I learned how hard work is done, but I feel I could have gain more with an estructured training program .
Right now I'm shooting 387-390 more less... I've been working in my technique with a lot of drills and mental training. I'm improving my technique and getting better in my mental training. I don't have shooters to compete with in my sesions (they're little or in another modality) and no coach either...
What I'm looking for is that well structured training program. I want my objectives and exercises to be more challenging but sometimes they´re too high that I can´t reach it at that point...
My next important competition is in 2 months.
That's a little bit about my situation right now..
Thank you!

You should look at:
http://targetshooting.ca They have a ton of information which might prove useful to you. In particular you could look in their "Documents Library" and "Training Info".
Best of luck with your shooting.

Carla,
A little more info is needed. Is the 387-390 in Precision Air Rifle, 3 position smallbore, air pistol? Each will have slight ly different approaches.
Overall, you need to start with a twelve month calendar, list the most important match, then next most important, and so on. Once you have the dates scheduled, you need to add a training schedule for each of the portions of your shooting program: physical training; mental training, technical training including gun adjustments, and set a schedule to train on a cyclic schedule for each (when working hard on one, ease up on the others), but making all of them come to a high point about a week prior to your biggest match (that gives you time to relax, do easy training, and travel to the match).
There is much more to this, but that is the crux.
Setting goals is a part of the program, and you need long term (5 year) goals, intermediate term to head for the long term ones, and short term (daily) goals. AS you accomplish the goals, reevaluate and set new ones at a higher level (but not so high you don't think you can reach them with hard work).
Try to find a coach in your area; contact NRA and USA Shooting as they can often tell you who is in your area of the country.
