making your own grips-Buckmark from another set of grips-Izz

this may be the wrong forum ...
I have a Izzy 46. I want to make a set of grips for a buckmark patterned after the Izzy grips.
I know it will not be a drop in situation but if I have to make a few sets to get it right I will. The cost of target grips for the buckmark run 120 and up and I am certain willing to do the work.
The way I figure it I need to make/cast molds of the izzy grips and then use some sort of material to then pour into the molds.
the molds will have high sides to allow some spread of the material to work off for the difference in the guns.
any advice in materials? any experience?
