Tau-7 Dry Fire Adapters

I help coach the MIT collegiate team, and we have about twenty Tau-7 and Tau-7 Jr. CO2 pistols. They have served us well, but one of the annoyances is the lack of an easy way to dry fire them. The procedure in the past has been to vent the CO2, and then re-fill when ready to shoot. This puts a lot of wear & tear on the O-rings, and wastes CO2.

There is a design on-line for an adapter, but it's a bit fussy to make, and isn't suitable for "mass production". I've designed a simple one piece adapter that works quite well, and I've made and tested a bunch of them. Because of dimensional differences, there is one design for the Tau-7's, and a slightly smaller one for the Tau-Jr's. In theory, the firing systems are the same, so it may also be a variation in either manufacturing or vintage. Here's what they look like & how they get installed:

I've put together a "manual", which includes dimensions & templates for making your own. If you'd rather not, I will provide them to anyone who makes a $10 (or larger) tax-deductible donation to the MIT Pistol Team. PM me for details.
