Had trouble after cleaning pistol would not dry fire after assembly
I had to adjust the sear engagement a 1/4 turn clockwise then the the gun would dry fire
anyone care to comment as to why this may have happened as I only removed the barrell to clean

Maybe you could first explain "trouble"

Sorry not sure what you mean
it was trouble for me as a brand new pistol so I was surprised this happened

You mentioned it would not Dry Fire after cleaning. Is this the trouble? We need more details.
How did you cycle the action? Did you have a plastic/dummy round in the chamber or ? Was the trouble the sear didn't disengage?
Please describe your steps.

It would not dry fire with the plug in place
I removed and reassembled the barell 3 times to make sure everything was in the right place
then after removing the grip I cocked and looked at the sear engagement it was out a tad not engaging correctly and this is what was causing the pistol not to fire
after a slight adjustment of the screw the pistol fired OK

Do you have the trigger set up as a very short single stage trigger? that could do it if you bumped the adjustment.

No it's set for dual stage

Same probelm happened again at a session the other night starting shooting OK
in this event I had to apply the safety a couple of times
then would not fire (yes I released the safety)
again the sear engagement appeared to be out and this is in a brand new pistol
I gave the gun a good clean but if it keeps doing this I'm taking it back
Not happy

If it's not broken, don't fix it....

I was having problem with SP trigger not resetting after firing. After much tinkering, I removed the safety screw and safety lever and it works great. Something was binding.
It looks to me like the safety lever is an afterthought and not an original part of the design.
