I use the same load indoors at 50' as I use outdoors at 25 and 50 yards, 4.1gr. Bullseye with 185gr. Zero or Magnus swaged SWCHP.

cheap 185gr lead semi-wadcutters taper crimped and 3.5gr winchester WST. you might have to adjust the load for function. Cost effective, accurate, and mild recoil.

Same as my 50 yard load. 4.0 Bullseye under either a 185 or 200 gr LSWC

I might be missing something but if your present gun and ammo combination is shooting one inch groups, shouldnt you be leaving well enough alone and telling us about YOUR load?

The load my gun has shot the best with was 3.9 grs clays / 200gr Penn Lswc/ 1.245 COL/ .469 crimp/ Federal primer. I was just curious of anyone was useing lighter bullets for indoor and short course type stuff....I new to the .45 as far as BE is concerned...so kinda lookin for a load with training wheels till I get the feel for it...I started to shoot Bullseye powder because the recoil is less sharp than clays.....I have every intention of getting some 185's and another pound of clays ...and I believe I'm just gaonna shoot what works and not try to reduce the recoil ....as I am getting more used to it....managaged a 87-2x slow fire last sunday @ 25yds .....timed and rapid I wont even talk about......:-)

Similar to others. 4.0BE behind a 185g HPWC (Star/Zero/Magnus) or a 185g long nose is my go to load.
25 Yd. Load

For my Clark Heavy Slide .45 ACP- 4.8 grains of Win. 231 Powder; 0.452" diameter, 200 grain LSWC (H&G #68- type); Win. Lg. Pistol Primer; Win. case; 1.250" OAL; with a taper crimp at case mouth of 0.465". Positive function and great accuracy. The 231 burns cleaner than the Bullseye Powder I used to use!

3.8 gr. HS-700X, Rem 2.5 behind the 185 gr. Star LSWCHP at ca 720 fps - a mild and accurate load.
