Deciphering RIKA statistics ~ help?

As I'm starting to use and learn about my newly acquired (but older/used) RIKA unit, I'm finding that I'm hitting a wall with deciphering what the statistics mean. I searched TT and didn't really find any info regarding this info. I searched the web and found less. Rika themselves don't have an owners manual listed anywhere I could find (if I'm wrong, Please point me to it, thanks!).

Row 1, Column 2, Average Placement on the x/y axis and holding for series:

Row 2, Column 1, Average hit and holding:

Row 2, Column 2, Possible Score by Time Transference and overview of shot by scoring ring:

Row 3, Column 1, Time charts: deduction, points, x/y discrepancy:

Row 4, Column 2, Percent Calculations:

The others are fairly self explanatory. Even some of these seem to have points I understand. Like on the Time Transference, it's showing scores if I'd released the trigger sooner or later, and I suspect that'd indicated grabbing the trigger when I see a good hold and having the shot produce a lower score. But I'd love to know the specifics. For those who've used a RIKA for training, what do you specifically look for? I'm looking forward to tracking my training over time (using RIKA 1 or 2 times a week, mixed in with my other training and practice)

The 2 things I've seen that I like the most were a shot where my mind was WAY off on something else (thinking about trying out video of myself) and how my hold blew up. And better was what I consider a 'perfect' automatic shot where I wasn't hardly on the target but for 2~3 seconds and the 'hold' was within the "x" region of the 10 ring. I used to have those shots more before a break, nice to feel one again ANY have it recorded.

Thanks,

Brian

After getting my used RIKA system, I passed it on for some other folks to figure it out. They ended up ordering a diagnostics book that explains how to decifer an use everything. Not sure if it has came in yet, where they ordered it or if it will be helpful. I can get all that info if someone on here doesn't easily know where to order those books or know if they are helpful. I would also like to here from others that have experience with the system.

I don't know the rika as I use scatt but some thoughts.

I always look at the physical traces - does the gun approach the target from the same direction (i.e. straight down from 12-O'clock), and is it consistent. How long is the gun in the aiming area, and again is that consistent. Then follow through, is that consistent, does it move rapidly in any one direction.

Look also at an indicator or trace length (scatt measures the 1sec before shot release) - how long is that number (compare that from session to session and look for trends over time). Hold is equally useful - amount of time in the 10 ring - or equally an area the size of the 10 ring - scatt calls it 10a and 10.5a for inner 10 ring.

Other things to look out for are any movements 0.3 seconds before shot release. This should be smooth and rapid movements indicate trigger jerks or snatches at the time your brain committed to releasing the shot (i.e. it takes 0.3 seconds to 'think' pull before the finger pulls the trigger).

To me the point is to identify areas of weakness or technical errors with a view to working on them and improve them and make them technically perfect (or at least better).

Rob.

That funnny looking black question mark by the red door will bring up the help screen for whatever statistic you are trying to look at.

Myself and Ken Johnson wrote those help screens, or actually did the English translation cleanup, 100 years ago it seems, I thought they were pretty good at the time
