Fed bulk 550-CCI-SV Groups

Is there a BIG difference in the group sizes at 25 yd's with bulk, out of a MKIII ruger, Just want to know is it worth buying CCI or just stick with Fed's thanks

Depends on how well you shoot. The CCI do better for me.

it depends on your gun, and it may not be consistent from one Ruger to another. I have a friend who thought there was enough of a difference not to use the Federal in league or matches because when he sand bagged it, he got some fliers. Assuming both ammos function well in your gun, you might want to use the federal in practice and save the CCI for competition.

A number of years ago I tested a variety of ammo in a Wlather GSP with a Falcon barrel. I did not try any of the HV ammo but I found that the difference between the most expensive ammo tested (Eley-forget which one and Wolf Match Extra) provided slightly smaller groups than the others which were SKJagd PM, Wolf Match Target, Aquuilla SV, and CCI SV. Since I only shoot in the 830's the difference was not worth the huge difference in ammo cost.
