Opinions on Monard Shooting Clothing

Hey!

I am a precision air rifle shooter in need of some new clothing. I am currently wearing an old KT jacket and custom Sauer pants. My coach let me borrow them for a while, but they are very old, soft, and one of the zippers on the pants has already broken. I have very large quads/thighs and cannot find a pair of standard sized pants that will fit me, so I am thinking about getting some custom clothes. I was doing some research and found Monard shooting clothes, specifically the standard line. What do you guys think about Monard shooting vs other custom made clothing companies? I just purchased my Walther, so I am a little low on money and the standard is the only one that would remotely fit my budget. Also, does the company have good customer service?

Thanks!

I have Monard clothing made to measure and it is very good. I would recommend it. Other Brands are good as well but I found Monard to be good value for money. You can do the measurements on line.

I might be telling you about ground you have already covered but have you talked to either Neal Stepp at International Shooter Service (817) 595-2090 or Janet Raab at Center Shot Sports (703) 266-1874. I don't know if either carries Monard specifically but both are very knowledgeable about shooting clothing. They might be able to help you out.

I've got a Monard Standard jacket made to measure. Fits great (or did until I ate too much cake :D ). The one thing they tend to do is leave a little too much material around the right shoulder such that it bunches up a little when prone (a friend had one and his was the same). That said, it can be folded neatly under the adjustable strap and kept out the way. Overall it's a great 3P jacket and they're good value, although they're a bit dearer now than when I got mine in 2007. I paid about £250, and MTMs are now €424 which equates to £370 (although the euro is a lot stronger against the pound than it was then).
