One of our 4-H 888 CO2 cylinders came apart when I unscrewed it from the rifle. I have retrieved the brass end from the rifles receiver. I now have the tube and rubber gasket at the base of the threads, the brass end, a spring, and a brass "pin" with a red gasket on the small end. My question: Are all of the parts represented, and do I just screw it back together? Do I need some kind of pipe dope on the end of the cylinder threads? Should I send it to Daisy? Thanks a bunch people! Dwaine Hurt.

Mine also have a star washer. As I recall it sits on top of the cylinder and the spring sits on it with the valve seal/stem on that. Could be they've changed the design. It was pretty obvious it wouldn't work without it on mine when I did a pre-assembly.
I always replace the o-ring seal between the brass fitting and steel cylinder whenever I have one apart. You can get them at an auto parts house.
When assembling, the factory uses some sort of red thread lock or sealer on the cylinder threads. It looks like the stuff on some pneumatic or water brass fittings. I generally wire brush loose or big crud so it doesn't affect the assembly. I've been using blue loctite on the threads to prevent the problem you had to start with. The blue seems to do the job, but, still allow disassembly if needed. If you use the red loctite it won't come apart - without a torch which I don't think would be good for it.
And, yes - if your not comfortable with it then call Daisy. Or perhaps our host at Pilkington.
