Hi Shooters,

I'm a Brazilian shooter and i need to explain what happens with CBC/Magtech here.

Please don't buy any more .22 CBC/Mactch bullets it's very dangerous.

Here in Brazil we have just one brand of .22LR for sold in the stores. Other brands ca be imported or finded but is very expensive (about US$ 40,00) or long way to get than.

I can tell a lot of cases (not 1 or 2) that ammo blows up without serious wounds. it's a frequent problem with .22 cbc.
but the quality of ammo are sold in Brazil is very different of the ammo are sold in US. we stay with what are worse.

my English does not allow to explain with details but if you want i can write in portuguese and the user Nick Burman translate for you.

i advise: be careful with Magtech, it's crap

it's true

Thanks BRGuest for the warning!

Several years ago I bought a case of Magtech .22 SV ammo from Midway. Of the first 300 rounds, 2 exploded in my gun. Luckily no serious damage to me or the gun, but very scary. In both instances the brass just broke through at the base leaving a big hole in the casing. I believe that the casing brass was (still is?) dangerously weak in Magtech .22 SV ammo.

I informed Midway but they claimed the fault was in my gun (which had safely shot a dozen other brands of ammo!). After much arguing they reluctantly took back the remainder of the case, but they refused to warn their other customers, as I requested. They even removed my warning from their customer feedback postings. However I think they may no longer sell the ammo - for whatever reason.

I wonder if the brass used in Magtech centerfire ammo is equally weak?
