Can anyone recommend where to find the best price here in the US?
Thanks!

Thanks for the tip re:the R1!
That seller was great to deal with and had the best price I've seen
by far.
PLUS the sight is fantastic!
Thanks again!

Is the R1 discontinued now?

It appears they have been discontinued.
On the Aimpoint website they are listed as such.
http://www.aimpoint.com/us/products/dis ... ed-sights/
The website waxman and I bought ours from has ended that particular auction. They have a new listing for the R-1 at increased price and only showing 3 available.
I really like mine. Personally I much prefer it over my UD single dots and 4 dots...but that's personal preference.

"More than 10 available" according to the ebay website:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Aimpoint-Micro-R-1- ... 27bb58550d
Main difference between the R-1 and other Aimpoint Micros seems to be the environmental specifications.
If you need your scope to survive 90 feet underwater, check the specs.
Otherwise the Micro's optics seem the same.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Hi Waxman,
The link you originally posted shows 27 sold but that particular auction is over. Their new auction at $407 only shows 3 available.
Do they have a third auction going somewhere?
My understanding is the R-1 and H-1 are the same except for the finish color...one is black the other is silver. The T-1 however is better waterproofed and is adaptable to night vision devices.
For my purposes, NRA Conventional Pistol, the R-1 and H-1 are great!

The link I posted this morning is still on:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Aimpoint-Micro-R-1- ... 27bb58550d
$339, with more than 10 available.
I like mine too! :)

I don't know any of the sellers posted nor I am saying that these are fakes, but be careful. There are plenty of Aimpoint fakes out there that look just like the real thing.
Hope you got the real deal-Aimpoints are fantastic.

Waxman,
I didn't see that one.
Thanks!
I wish I could afford another one.
Doc,
I agree with you.
They are fantastic!
I believe the ones this seller is selling are the real deal.
But like they say "buyer beware".

I've seen the "Aimpoint Style" imitations. Real cheap too. Avoid those!
Ebayer "wholesalehunter" sent me the real Aimpoint. No knockoff. Original packaging and all.
(I'd like another one or two myself!) :)

I got home sunday and it was waiting for me. A perfect piece of masterful design, engineering and manufacturing. It got me to go to the Opthalmologist office and get my eyes rechecked. He was nice enought to let me try the sight with those strange gogles on. A prefect little red circle. I can not wait to put it on my 208s for a test run.
