Walther M4 - worth trying??

Is the Walther M4 pistol (appears to be the SP22 with better grips) worth trying as a entry level standard pistol? I tried a Hammerli Trailside once and was dissapointed (their low-end model). My opinion is that the makers of high quality firearms seem to have difficulty making arms for the low end of the market. For comparison purposes I own and have used Walther GSP, Hammerli 215 & 280, Pardini SPE & SP, Unique DES69, Britarms 2000, High Standard (all models), S&W 41, Ruger Mark I, II & III.

No.
The last time I looked, it was too big to fit the ISSF "box".
Anyway, a used GSP would be a way better option.

Paul if you want to stay at the entry level then get whatever. If you want to move up buy the best you can possibly afford and don't look back. Seeing the amount of equipment you have gone through, think of all the time you could have been practicing instead of shopping and getting used to a new but not any better piece of equipment. Being an old guy I have really come to appreciate the value of time. It isn't something that should be waisted as competitive years are not infinite.
Best of luck
