FWB 100 FPS

Post by twang »

I wanted the fwb 103 but not for $1400 which I saw a few months ago and not a big fan of the FWB 102 even though it is a beautiful pistol (double cocking levers) but I did like the FWB 100 which they said or should I say, saw some posts stating it shot around 400 FPS.
Now I have seen some posts stating it is a lot higher -like 450 to 470 fps.
What is the truth and what is a FWB 100 worth?
I know I saw one on here or somewhere recently but they wanted $900.
Used to be you could almost get a FWB 103 for that last year.

Hi,

I have just bought a second hand one. The factory velocity setting from the manual states it should be 150 m/sec or 492 fps.

I did a bit of a strip down guide in my thread here.

http://www.airgunbbs.com/showthread.php ... -Model-100

With new seals it will go to around 520 fps or so. But I have stuck to the recommended settings and it shoots extremely well.

I paid about £200 (U.K. Pounds) for mine. But I see that the US prices for European target air pistols seems to a lot more expensive.

With which pellet could you attain that velocity? I find it kind of surprising.

That was with 7gn Geco's but the 7gn R10 Match are very similar maybe only 10 fps slower.

The pump dumps air on the next charging stroke, there is so much in reserve.

That's what I am talking about.
I heard it was closer to 400 fps than 450 and some say they always had 470 fps or higher from day one. I would like to buy the FWB 100 but not if it shoots 400 FPS I will just get another model 65. Ithought they came out with the FWB 102 with two Levers to increase speed and help with the cocking effort to make it easier to cock than the FWB 100.
What is the truth?

"The pump dumps air on the next charging stroke, there is so much in reserve."

I occasionally had the same problem with a Pardini K58 SSP. I quickly fixed that by increasing the power of the striker spring by adjusting the tension screw at the rear.

I'd be interested to have other owners of this gun to jump in with more info.

I also have a FWB 103 and this has the same pump piston setup.

Here :- http://www.cones-stuff.co.uk/Feinwerkba ... %20103.htm

That shoots at 520 fps.

I suspect if the 100 is only doing 400 fps it needs either new seals fitting or the pump piston needs lubricating with Feinwerkbau special grease to ensure a good seal.

The extract from the manual.

So it was always intended to be able to shoot at 492 fps.

I have to admit that at the higher velocity setting (500+) it is not as smooth to shoot with.

Well now all I have to do is figure out what an FWB 100 is worth to me.
$900 is out of the question for me but it looks beautiful but so does a pardini K58 that is much cheaper and just about as good-I think?
