Target holes

The short fiber paper is best, but if we want to use a home copier
or a commercial printer is there a way to get a good round hole?

Even with heavy paper they can tear. A poster said coat the back
with a watered down white glue. OK- but why not spray a coating
on the back of the paper? Has anyone tried a spray lacquer or similar? Paint?

I will try various this weekend.

Target Paper

Philip_T,

Another poster turned me to trying an ink stamp bullseye (7-10x black area). I use the back side of used 50' targets (B2 & B3) and stamp four bulls on it (upper left, right and lower left, right). The quality of the stamp pad is not great because the ring thickness had to be broader slightly to keep from being filled in with the ink pad. It seems to work good enough for practice.

The local printing place I had the stamp made only charged about $20. They also suggested paper that would be less likely to tear and have cleaner holes. I have not tried their sample paper yet as the used B2 & B3 targets are working better than plain copier paper.

The bonus for me is that the B2 & B3 targets fit nicely in my target trap.

strange.. we use thousands of dollars on guns and equipment of all sorts but try to save a penny on targets.. why not just buy targets in a store and not think anymore about it.
the time you spend on trying to save these dollars could be used on other things..

just my 50 cents-- (or 5 targets)

Oh, I buy gobs of targets already. Some I just can't find locally and so I choose to be frugal with my resources. Reusing targets makes cents :)

mytargets.com has a nice charging rhino for the 10M AP shooter with delusions of grandeur.
Would you hang a pellet on his nose?

My personal favourite for a bit of fun is a rather well endowed Koala which along with many other targets may be found here.

For what I pay for replacement cartridges for my printer, it couldn't possible be cheaper to print my own.

Laser. $60 toner, 2000 prints per toner.

But I agree, I buy targets, they're not THAT expensive.
