Avanti 887 vs. 888

I was wondering what the difference is between the 887 gold medalist and 888 medalist?

888 has a straight "sporter style" stock and standard "lo-cost" sights
The 887 has a more "pistol-grip" stock like the 753 and Gamo style sights, again the same as the 753.

Otherwise, action/BBL, etc is identical. I use 888's with my younger shooters and the 887's with older (13+ or so) as the 887 stock is a bit heavier

Thanks for the info. I am thinking of getting my 13 year old involved in air rifles and for the money the Avanti seems to be a great route.
