I have belooking for a scope stand and have run across a company named Ray-Vin that sell what I think as high end stands with 1 inch tubes. Do you think this would be overkill for 10m since the shooting lanes are so tight? The base on this thing is over 24 inches.

Definitely overkill for 10m. I use a Freeland bipod stand with 5/8" rods. Works great. And cheaper too.

The coolthing about the ray -vin is how easy it sets up.The scope just folds down beside the rod of the stand.I really like mine.

So that is one for and one against any more out there I do like the head. Ray-Vin does make a 3/4 stand out of stock the even the owner recommended the A-base. But then again tring to make a buck which I can understand

Ray-Vin = Kid Proof...

Kids in our club could destroy a bowling ball... We have had a hundred Scope stands and none of them can stand up to the 1" Ray-Vin model. One word of caution. If you want to transport it in a normal luggage bag, you'll need (1) 18" extention + two extention pieces that will come apart to fit into your size bag. Otherwise, you'll have to bend over to see thru your scope (if you're 5' or taller) to see your shots.

We just ordered six new stands and they are great!

I only wish Ray-Vin made offhand stands...

You can get away with a pretty inexpensice scope for 10M so I would not spend the $$ on an expensive scope and stand if not needed.
Freeland also makes very good stands and to be honest I think the Ray-Vin's are knock offs of Freeland.
Freeland has made scope stands for 30+ years and they are proven.
They also seem like they are less $$
