Does anyone have a Walther LG300XT Alutec? Is it a good rifle for 3-P air events and would it also work for standing only events?

Seeing as the olympic gold 10m mens was won by a shooter using one, i'd say so :D
There isn't much between the top offerings, beyond balance, feel and taste.

But would it make a good 3-P rifle? Has anybody found anything that they do not like about this rifle? I am trying to find out as much as I can before I decide to buy one.
Thanks,
Martha

Martha,
I coach a university air rifle club and we have 8 of the Walther 300XTs. The Alutecs are great for a club usage. Easy to change setup from one shooter to the next, and as accurate as any of the top of the line precision air rifles. However, for a single shooter buying their own rifle, I would recommend buying the laminated style stock. It has all of the adjustability you will need to fit you as an individual, and not worry about changing for the next club shooter. A single rifle shooter really doesn't need all of adjustment possible with the Alutec.
The "works" of the rifle is the same, and you will save money on the Alutex price.

I shot a lg300xt alutec for probably 5 years. i think there great guns. the MEC butt plates on them are far superior to any other gun I've shot. there can be weight added on the end of the barrel or on the butt plate. mine has the full fore end with rail and works great for 3-P as well as standing only. there is alot of adjustments that can be made which could overwhelm a shooter new to aluminum stocks, but if you take your time making adjustments and be sure to make pencil marks and notes to where they were before you change things you can have a very good fitting gun.
i now shoot a Feinwerkbau p70 (have shot anschutz in the past) and can tell you the Walther will easily shoot just as good as any other.
