I recently did the Nygord modification to one of my Daisy 717s:

Looking at the grip frame on this pistol, I noticed a cutout and boss that are unused.



This page on the 747 says:
"Trigger pull can be easily changed from 1 to 4.5 pounds by simply turning a small screw located on the front of the grip frame."

I would really be interested in seeing a picture of the 747 grip frame (with grips removed) if the mechanism is indeed there, as well as any other information on the mechanism used on the 747. I was going to modify my other 717 as Nygord did, but now I'm thinking that if there's another way to do so I may try to replicate it as well.

This may be late and old, but I recently received a factory fresh 717 manufactured the first week of Dec 2010. It has the 747 trigger weight adjustment. The gun leaked out of the box, so I had to send it back, still have not received it back, but I spoke to Daisy Customer Service today and I should have it by the end of the week. I will post pics when I get it back, if you are still interested. But I do have to say, I have never experienced te Nygord Mod, but the way the 747 adjustment behaves, it leaves much to be desired. All it really is, is a piece of sheet metal that tension adjust via a grub screw. I do not have a trigger pull gauge as of yet, but it only gives a little bit in the adjustment options, and at the expense of trigger smoothness.

OJ the flat plate is for adding trigger weight. As for the leaking unfortunately this seems to be a problem for the 7xx series of Daisy AP's. Our Jr. club has 6 of them and leaking is a common problem. Changing the valve sometimes fixes it and sometimes not. Accuracy is very good considering the cost however and when they work they do work well.

From what I have dealt with in the 7xx series so far (around 5 over the last 3 months), they valve leaking is definitely a problem. I am kind of surprised that there is not more complaints about them around the web. I do like the 7xx's though, never the less, hoping to obtain a 777 when one presents itself...

I was looking over the valve assembly and (carefully) experimenting and the shims looked like it fixed it, but being that the gun was brand new, I just sent it back for warranty repair.

So do all of the newly manufactured 717's come with the trigger weight adjustment? The 3 circa 1985 ones I have came across do not, but the 2010's do.
