DES 32-U again

Hello,
I recently dug out my Unique DES 32-U, with which I used to wax the diehard .45 shooters in my CF bullseye league. Great gun! I've never had problems with it, but now I'm a little alarmed when I read the reports of cracked slides/frames on the forum. Where do the cracks occur? Is this a pervasive problem with these guns, or is it--as I seem to remember reading--only the early ones? If so, how early?
Thanks for any info you can give me.
Bill
