Hi all

any ideas why I seem to get a lot of releases where the whole sight picture drops a little on release - maintaining alignment but not in the right place?

This might seem a bit counter-intuitive.

But please consider two possible scenarios:

1) You are watching the target, and your brain knows when the shot is going to break, and you "anticipate" the shot. Solution: concentrate on alignment, settle in wobble area, ignore target, perfect trigger.

2) You are doing everything right (see above) except for the perfect trigger part. Solution: dry fire against blank surface until you can reliably deliver perfect trigger 100% of time.

If you are seeing it happen (with your eyes, not RIKA or Scatt) then it is most likely situation 1. If you aren't seeing it happen except for Riak/Scatt readouts, then it is most likely situation 2.

You can try moving your finger (probably) higher on the trigger. Another approach is to pull more upward on the trigger. Finally, use more of the top half of tour trigger finger. Play around and see wat works for you.

Steve it is probably 1) as I can see it happen even when I am doing blank shooting. I am trying to get over it but I have also had a feel of some different trigger positions so I'll let you know how I progress.

I must disagree with all previous posts as I believe the problem is most likely being caused by the griping tensions increasing as you apply pressure to the trigger. Remember, you must isolate the trigger finger from the gripping tension and apply pressure without varring [causing any change any where in any other muscle tension throught your entire body.] grip pressure.
