The final piece of my three gun ISSF battery arrived today. A vintage Hammerli M104.

Does anybody know any of the history of these guns? When were they made?

I figured I could go the TOZ route, which would have an interesting Cold War aspect to it, or go the used free pistol route. I've read that the TOZ pistols were copies of the Hammerli 100 series guns.

I've competed in Free Pistol matches by single round loading my Ruger until now. I took the gun to the indoor range today to try and get some zeroing in.

Not an easy pistol to fire from a rest because of the breech lever under the grip. And it has been so long since I zeroed an iron-sighted pistol I forgot that I'd have to hold the pistol at arm's length in the rest in order to get the right sight picture.

My results today weren't all that good (or publishable) because of that hair-trigger. Going to take many, many rounds of ammunition for me to get used to this gun...

The model 104 was made from 1961-1965. While both the Hammerli and the TOZ use miniature Martini actions, the set trigger mechanisms are very different, the TOZ being much simpler than the Hammerli.
