Anyone have an idea of how often you should change the seals on an Izzy? I have about 6000 rounds through mine and velocity seems to have dropped off a shade.

Thanks for your input.

I changed the main compression seal one time on my Izzy and it was well before your 6000 shots. My gun was very obviously losing pressure as it would bleed off significant pressure before I could complete a shot sequence. What clues are you getting that yours may be losing pressure? Sound? Low POI? I think you'll know when it's time. Are you keeping the compression cylinder seal lightly oiled?

If you do decide to change your main seal, there is a heplful tutorial at the bottom of the page at this link: http://www.pilkguns.com/tenp/spizh46.htm
I also have a few "improvements" to this tutorial that I would suggest, if you are interested. Just let me know.

I am now over 10000 rounds with my izzy, and it seems to be good enough to shoot more. I try to not make chamber full after end session, so it became full only 30-40 seconds every shoot and not all night or week.

No lubrification on mine. because i don't have a oil good enough.
My 0.02$.

Well, I got my hands on a chrono and it's running around 480 for my usual fodder (R-10, 7 grainers) so musta been my imagination.

Thank you all for your input :)
