My FWB 80 has been completely reliable for the 5,000 pellets I've put through it. Are the newer pistols similarly troublefree? Pistols like the IZH46M and the FWB 103?

How reliable and durable are the newer air pistols?
I'm just starting to shoot again after a long absence, so I'm ignorant of the advances made since the early 80's. Even though I'm no where near exploiting the accuracy offered by my present pistol, I can't help but look at the new equipment.

hello my friend let me tell you that a new pistol is like a marriage, if you take care of it, it is for all your life. to me my guns are as my wife and my mariagge.

After 5000 pellets, pistol is still reliable? My lord, 5000 pellets is noe more than an avid competition shooter fires in a few months.
High quality AP like Steyr, FWB, possibly also Morini and Pardini will fire 25000 pellets with no trouble. Beyond that point exchange of a seal, replacement of some triggerspring could beecome nesessary, but then they will often deliver another 25000 or more pellets, free of trouble.
The aforementioned match aps last almost "eternally". Several decades that is.
