trigger weight

I know the trigger weight pulls is 500g, but does the (g) stand for (grams)?

Yes, g is for grams. The rule book, available at USA Shooting's web site will show the specific configuration of the weight and how to suspend it from the weapon's trigger. The configuration is important.
