AW93 trigger

Post by guest22 »

I saw an AW93 and the groove to hang the test weight does not appear anywhere near the middle of the trigger.
Given 8.4.2.6.1 The weight of the trigger pull must be measured, with the test weight suspended near the middle of the trigger, does the AW93 trigger meet the requirements?

There is no requirement in the rules for there to be a groove on the trigger.

If there is a groove but it is not in the appropriate place then the equipment control staff should just ignore it. This can obviously be difficult if the trigger slopes backwards as the weight will tend to slide. The rubber knife-edge option can make things easier but, IMHO, the onus is on the competitor to present a gun that that is capable of being tested. This means that if there is a backward sloping trigger without a slot in the correct position and the testing weight will not stay in the correct position by itself then the pistol must fail.
